- B. Intrusion - flashbacks, nightmares, intrusive memories, physiological reactivity to cues
- C. Avoidance - of thoughts, feelings, people, places
- D. Negative alterations in cognition and mood - amnesia for the event, negative beliefs, self-blame, anhedonia, detachment
- E. Hyperarousal - hypervigilance, exaggerated startle, irritability, sleep and concentration disturbance
- Complex PTSD (ICD-11) - adds affect dysregulation, negative self-concept and relationship difficulty; follows prolonged, repeated interpersonal trauma
